Welcome to El Compas. By creating an account or using El Compas, you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. About El Compas

El Compas is a platform that helps dancers connect around dance events. Depending on the event, users may be able to discover events, connect with other attendees, look for dance partners, exchange messages, share content, and receive information from event organizers.

El Compas provides the platform but does not organize or operate the events listed on it unless explicitly stated otherwise.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your account secure.

You may not impersonate another person, create accounts for abusive or fraudulent purposes, or use El Compas in a way that harms other users or the platform.

3. Events and organizers

Event information may be created and managed by third-party organizers. Organizers are responsible for the accuracy of their event information and for the events they operate.

Joining an event space on El Compas does not constitute registration for, or purchase of admission to, the physical event unless explicitly stated.

El Compas is not responsible for event cancellations, changes, admission decisions, refunds, or interactions between organizers and attendees.

4. Interactions with other users

El Compas helps people connect, but we do not verify or guarantee the identity, intentions, conduct, compatibility, or reliability of users.

You are responsible for your interactions with other people, including decisions to meet, dance, travel, share accommodation, or make other arrangements with them.

Harassment, threats, discrimination, scams, unwanted sexual behaviour, or other abusive conduct are not permitted.

5. Content you share

You remain responsible for messages, photos, profile information, posts, and other content you share through El Compas.

You grant El Compas the limited rights necessary to store, process and display that content in order to operate the service.

You must not upload content that is illegal, infringes another person’s rights, or violates these Terms.

We may remove content or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with the law, or enforce these Terms.

6. Availability of the service

We may change, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features of El Compas. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available or error-free.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, El Compas is not responsible for losses resulting from events organized by third parties, interactions between users, user-generated content, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

8. Account suspension or termination

We may restrict or suspend access to El Compas when a user seriously or repeatedly violates these Terms, threatens the safety of others, abuses the platform, or when required by law.

You may stop using El Compas at any time.

9. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as El Compas evolves. If a change materially affects users’ rights or obligations, we will provide appropriate notice.
